Had a fantastic New Year's stay! The owners were so friendly and helpful, and the house was adorable. Loved being in the countryside along the old Nakasendo. The room was cozy and the beds were super comfy. And the best part? The delicious New Year's dinner! Every dish was better than the last. , loved that they offered tea time and little snacks. Such a great experience!
Couldn't find any negatives, everything was perfect!

We did not want to leave, this hotel is quiet!!!
The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. The food was always good. We appreciated the amenities, such as flat-screen TV and a sitting area. When we came, the host met us and was lovely. Will be back and would recommend it😀

The rooms at Guest House Motomiya are great! They have air conditioning and free WiFi, which is a big plus for me. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of space to relax in the seating area. I also enjoyed watching shows on the flat-screen TV.
Personally, I found the shared bathroom to be a bit inconvenient. However, I understand that some people might not mind it and still enjoy their stay.

I stayed at Guest House Motomiya for a few days and it was absolutely wonderful. Keiko, the host, was incredibly kind and accommodating. The meals she provided were delicious and made with fresh ingredients, including some from her own garden. The guest house itself was clean, comfortable, and had a charming atmosphere. I also loved the beautiful walk to the nearby traditional Japanese village. it was a fantastic experience and I hope to return one day.
I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The house at Guest House Motomiya is absolutely charming and welcoming. The path leading to the house is surrounded by beautiful scenery, including a shrine, rice fields, and stunning mountain views. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean, and the futon provided a wonderfully comfortable sleep. The food at the guesthouse was a highlight of our stay, with everything being incredibly fresh and deliciously prepared. We even had the chance to interact with other guests, thanks to a helpful translator within the group. We cannot forget to mention the delightful breakfast, featuring salad straight from the host's garden, fresh orange juice, and homemade jam with delicious toast. And to top it all off, the coffee at Keiko's son's coffee house was truly exceptional. our experience at Guest House Motomiya was a definite highlight of our trip to Japan. I highly recommend this place for your visit to Magome-Tsumago.

I had the most wonderful stay at this guest house. The host, Keiko, was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the shared bathroom was always clean and available. The highlight of my stay was the delicious food that Keiko cooked, using vegetables from her own garden. It was a truly authentic and flavorful experience. I also enjoyed learning how to fold origami paper cranes with Keiko after dinner. The location of the guest house was peaceful and conveniently located near the bus stop. I highly recommend this guest house for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

As a solo traveler, I loved the warm and welcoming atmosphere at this guest house. Keiko-san treated me like family and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The meals were exquisite, equivalent to those in high-end restaurants. The communal dining area allowed me to meet other fellow travelers and make new friends.
I felt completely at home here, with no complaints whatsoever.

We got incredible value for our money at Guest House Motomiya. The room was spotless and cozy, and the location was perfect for our hiking trip. The host, Keiko-san, treated us like family and even gave us a ride to the bus station when we forgot our keys. A truly wonderful experience!
Hotel breakfast could have been improved with the addition of an onsen.
